2025 Strawberry Reservoir Clean Up recap
Fish For Garbage returned to the shores of Strawberry Reservoir for one of our biggest and most inspiring clean-up events to date. With 282 volunteers showing up ready to make a difference, we were blown away by the turnout and even more so by the results. Together, this incredible group helped remove 5,040 pounds of trash from the shoreline. That’s 2.52 tons of garbage that will no longer pollute this beautiful fishery and recreation destination.
2025 Provo River Clean Up Wrap Up
Over 400 volunteers came together for our Fish For Garbage Provo River Clean-Up, working tirelessly to remove an astounding 12,840 pounds of trash from the river and surrounding areas. That’s three full dumpsters worth of garbage no longer polluting our watershed!

2024 Big Cottonwood Canyon Clean Up
We were blessed with an amazing fall day in Big Cottonwood Canyon, where stunning views met the dedication of 180 passionate volunteers. With crisp air and golden leaves as the backdrop, volunteers of all ages came together to remove an estimated 2,500 pounds of trash from the canyon.
2024 Weber River Clean Up
This year’s Fish For Garbage Weber River Clean Up was nothing short of amazing! On behalf of our entire team, we want to extend a HUGE thank you to the 120+ volunteers who came out to make a difference for the environment and the local community. Together, you helped remove a staggering 3,560 lbs of trash from the Weber River and its surrounding areas.
2024 Green River Clean Up
On a bright, sunny day in Dutch John, something remarkable happened. Over 100 volunteers gathered for the Fish For Garbage & GROGA (Green River Outfitters & Guides Association) Green River Cleanup, working together to restore the riverbanks and the rest of the area to their natural beauty, free of trash and debris. It was a day filled with hard work, community spirit, and a shared passion for protecting our environment.
2024 Jordan River Clean Up
Fish For Garbage Jordan River Clean Up was an inspiring event that brought together over 125 dedicated volunteers who worked tirelessly to make a significant impact on our local environment. With the combined efforts of our incredible community, we managed to collect a staggering 2,260 pounds of trash from the Jordan River!

On Saturday, June 22nd, the 4th annual Fish For Garbage Strawberry Reservoir Clean Up saw a fantastic turnout, with over 200 dedicated volunteers coming together to make a difference. This year, we collected a staggering 4,780 pounds of trash, pushing us past the incredible milestone of 100,000 pounds of garbage removed since Fish For Garbage was created.
2024 Provo River Clean Up
A heartfelt "Thank you!" to everyone who made the 2024 Provo River Cleanup an unprecedented success. With a record-breaking 14,360 pounds of trash collected—thanks to the dedication of over 400 volunteers—the event surpassed all expectations. The overwhelming support from sponsors like Nicholas & Co., Holy Cross Hospital, Western Rivers Flyfisher, and Breen Homes' "Cash for Trash" initiative ensured that volunteers were well-fed and rewarded. However, our work is ongoing. We remain committed to preserving our waterways and wildlands for future generations. #FILLTHENET Instagram contest! Participate by following @FishForGarbage, posting photos or videos of themselves cleaning water bodies while fishing, and tagging @fishforgarbage with #FishForGarbage and #fillthenet. The contest runs from May 1st to October 31st, with one monthly winner receiving a grand prize. Participants can enter multiple times. 2023 MillCreek Clean Up & Bonnie Ball
Fish For Garbage recently had the opportunity to team up with Utah Wildlife Walls, the Utah Wildlife Federation, and the National Forest Service for this year's annual Bonnie Ball. It's a street fair in Salt Lake City that highlights Utah's native wildlife and the importance of conservation.

Together, we managed to collect an astonishing 4,180 pounds of trash from the reservoir and its shoreline, significantly improving the ecosystem and ensuring the preservation of this natural treasure for generations to come.
2023 Outdoor Gear Swap
On May 13th, the Fish For Garbage gear swap took place, offering a fantastic opportunity for people to find great deals on slightly used gear. Numerous individuals participated in the event, eagerly seeking out high-quality gear at affordable prices.
2023 Provo River Clean Up
We are thrilled to share the success of the Fish For Garbage Lower Provo River Clean Up, held on April 29, 2023. With the help of over 300 volunteers, we were able to collect an impressive 9,240 pounds of garbage from the river and surrounding areas. That’s 30.5 lbs per person with a total of over 900 combined volunteer hours.

2022 Weber River Cleanup
Cleaning the Weber always brings surprises, either because of the weather in September, or the type of garbage left from people floating all summer long. However, we always, always get an enthusiastic group of volunteers, ready for some hard work picking up trash and enjoying good company.
