2025 Provo River Clean Up Wrap Up
This past weekend, the Provo River was transformed—not by nature, but by the incredible power of community. Over 400 volunteers came together for our Fish For Garbage Provo River Clean-Up, working tirelessly to remove an astounding 12,840 pounds of trash from the river and surrounding areas. That’s three full dumpsters worth of garbage no longer polluting our watershed!
We’re deeply grateful to everyone who showed up with gloves, grabbers, and a passion for clean water. Your energy, effort, and enthusiasm made this one of our largest and most successful clean-ups to date.

A huge thank you to Nicholas and Company for sponsoring the volunteer BBQ and going above and beyond by cooking for the entire crew. After a day of cleaning, sharing a delicious meal together was the perfect way to celebrate our collective impact. We also want to thank Uinta Brewery for providing refreshing drinks to help cool us off in the hot sun.
We also want to express our gratitude to Ace Disposal for hauling away the massive load of waste we collected. Their partnership helps us ensure the trash is responsibly managed and kept out of our waterways.
Thanks as well to Anytime Services for generously providing portable restrooms and a sanitation station for our volunteers. Clean facilities make a huge difference at an event of this scale, and we truly appreciate their support.
Big thanks to Fly Fish Food for providing the Grand Prize giveaway—your continued support keeps our volunteers energized and excited to return.
We’re also grateful to TroutRoutes for sponsoring this year’s reusable swag bags. Not only were they packed with awesome goodies, but they helped reduce single-use waste and made the event even more sustainable.
A heartfelt thank-you goes out to the Provo River Water Commission, Lakanto, and Happy Elephant for providing crucial monetary support that helped cover the costs of event supplies and other fees. Your contributions made this event possible from start to finish.
We also want to thank all of our sponsors for your generous services, supplies, and in-kind donations. Your partnership makes this work possible, and your commitment to clean water inspires everyone involved.
This event was captured beautifully thanks to the talents of Jovvany Villalobos, Dreyden Wilde, and Candace Perkins, whose photos bring the energy and impact of the day to life. A huge thanks as well to Mike Harrington for producing a powerful event recap video.

From all of us at Fish For Garbage: thank you. Every bottle, every tire, every bag of trash removed makes a difference. We can’t wait to see you on the river again soon.
